At the Opening of the 114th Ministerial Session
Your Highnesses and Excellencies,
Dear esteemed brothers,
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
In the name of Allah, and with His blessings, we inaugurate the one hundred and fourteenth (114th) session of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Firstly, allow me to welcome all of you to our meeting here in our second country, the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to express, on your behalf, my sincere gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Inspector General, and to the Saudi government and people, for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.
Your Highnesses and Excellencies,
Today, we gather under the umbrella of the Gulf house that unites us, through which we consult and coordinate our work, reflecting the visions and decisions of our leaders, may Allah preserve them, to strengthen the path of joint Gulf work.
Your Highnesses and Excellencies,
The regional and global situations surrounding us, with their developments, require us to exert efforts and unite the Gulf stance in facing these events and developments in a manner that serves the interests of our peoples.
Your Highnesses and Excellencies,
We now have an agenda containing many topics that we will discuss, hoping for success and prosperity for all.
Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
