KUNA: At the invitation of Dr. Mohammad Sabah AlSalem AlSabah, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies, the Board began its regular meeting yesterday, which will continue for two days in Kuwait.
The Board of Trustees of the Center is under the patronage of Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, and includes prominent academic and Islamic figures, including Turkish President Abdullah Gul.
Prominent figures participating in the meeting include Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Prince Raja, Dr. Nazrin Shah, the Crown Prince of the State of Perak in Malaysia, and Dr. Farhan Nizami, Director of the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies.
The Board of Trustees of the Center from Kuwait, in addition to Dr. Mohammed Sabah AlSalem AlSabah, includes Dr. Ali Al-Shamlan and Ahmed Al-Mutawa. The Board of Trustees is honored to meet His Highness the Amir of the country today and considers him one of the major supporters of the Center.
Kuwait has significantly contributed to supporting the new Islamic architectural facilities established recently for this center in the city of Oxford, UK.
The Center is one of the most important academic institutions promoting studies related to Islam and Muslims, serving as an important bridge between the Western and Islamic worlds.
Dr. Mohammad Sabah AlSalem hosted a dinner last night at Al-Messilah Palace in honor of the Board of Trustees of the Center.
